The Hutchinson Island Adventure: Alex’s Beach
Where is Alex’s Beach?
If you know where Jensen Beach is, just head South for about a mile. The entrance to Alex’s Beach will be on the left (East… same direction as the Ocean for those who don’t understand directions very well :-). Click on the address below to go to Google Maps.
The Adventure Continues…
Who is Alex? It must have been someone pretty special to have a beach named after them. I was not able to find out anything about Alex and I am not 100% sure I was even there. I followed the directions on Google Maps and while my GPS showed that I was right on the spot, the parking lot said it was Bryn Mawr Beach??? I also noticed that it seemed a little familiar because I have already written a post about Bryn Mawr Beach. I made sure to walk up and down the beach for a ways in hopes that I left Bryn Mawr and entered Alex’s Beach. Oh well… I captured a few good images so I still consider it to be a successful trip!
On July 1, 2017, the sun rose over the horizon at 6:30 a.m. I will admit that I woke up a little later than I should have this morning. I actually saw the sun rising as I was crossing the Jensen Beach Causeway. Luckily for me, I was ready and my destination was only minutes away!
Now this is where the confusion set in… I followed the GPS on my phone and while it showed that I was arriving at Alex’s Beach, the sign said that it was Bryn Mawr Beach. I didn’t let it phase me because I was already running late and didn’t have time to go looking for it. I just hopped out of my Jeep with the assumption that Alex’s Beach was probably a smaller beach connected to Bryn Mawr and perhaps they just shared a parking lot. Regardless, each day I visit the beach, even if it is the same one, is a new experience because each sunrise is always different. The sound of the waves, the arrangement of the clouds, and the golden sunrise was all I needed to make the trip worth while.
As I was meandering along the beach snapping photos, a realization occurred to me. I was almost finished with my Hutchinson Island Adventure. In a way, it made me a little sad. What was I to do now? Are there more beaches that I might have missed? If anyone reading this blog knows of a beach or scenic view for a sunrise, please comment below and let me know so that I can add it to my list. When this adventure is over, I will begin working more on my other blog, “The Treasure Coast and Beyond“. This blog will never have to end.
Sadly, the adventure had come to an end. I hope you have enjoyed looking at my photographs at least a fraction as much as I enjoyed witnessing the real thing. Before you leave, take some time to check out my Adventure Gear Store. It includes items that I have purchased as well as things that I would like to have for future adventures on the beach. If you know of anything else that might interest me, comment and let me know so that I can add it to my store. Please feel free to like, comment, and even share my blog with others. Today’s journey concluded and it has motivated me to look forward to what the future will bring. Please join me next week as I continue the journey on my Hutchinson Island Adventure!
